Floor Tiles, Porcelain Tiles for Bathrooms, Kitchens and Living Areas

Floor tiles are among the most versatile flooring solutions for private homes, commercial spaces and architectural projects. Modern porcelain floor tiles are durable, easy to maintain and available in an extensive range of colours, sizes, finishes and designs. This makes them suitable not only for bathrooms and kitchens, but also for living rooms, entrance areas, hallways, shops, restaurants, offices and other heavily used spaces.

At VITALE TILES, you can discover a wide selection of floor tiles from Italian and European ceramic manufacturers. If you would first like to explore the complete assortment, our Tiles category provides an overview of ceramic tiles for floors, walls, interiors and outdoor areas.

Porcelain Floor Tiles

Porcelain stoneware is one of the most widely used materials for modern floor tiles. It is fired at high temperatures and has a dense structure with very low water absorption. Depending on the individual product, porcelain tiles can offer excellent resistance to everyday use, moisture, frost and wear.

For this reason, porcelain floor tiles are suitable for many different applications. They can be used in private living areas as well as kitchens, bathrooms, entrance halls, restaurants, retail spaces, offices and public buildings.

For particularly demanding applications, take a look at our Technical Porcelain Stoneware. These tiles are designed for areas where resistance, slip properties and long-term durability are especially important.

Bathroom Floor Tiles

The bathroom places different demands on a floor than a dry living area. Water, humidity, cleaning and slip resistance must all be considered when choosing suitable bathroom floor tiles.

Natural shades such as beige, grey, sand and warm stone colours are particularly versatile. They can create a calm overall appearance and are easy to combine with sanitary fittings, furniture and coloured surfaces.

Floor and wall tiles can also be coordinated within the same design concept. Discover additional options in our Wall Tiles category.

For wet areas, the technical properties of the selected tile should always be checked. A polished or particularly smooth surface may look attractive but is not necessarily the best solution for every bathroom or shower floor.

Kitchen Floor Tiles

The kitchen is another area where the floor is exposed to regular use. Shoes, chairs, food, liquids and daily cleaning can all place demands on the surface.

Ceramic kitchen floor tiles are therefore a practical choice for many projects. They can be combined with a wide range of kitchen fronts, worktops, furniture and interior styles.

For modern and minimalist kitchens, Concrete & Cement tiles are particularly interesting. If you prefer a warmer appearance, Wooden Look Tiles can create the visual character of wood with the practical advantages of ceramic surfaces.

Floor Tiles for Living Rooms

Tiles are no longer limited to bathrooms and kitchens. Modern porcelain floor tiles are increasingly used in living rooms, dining areas and open-plan interiors.

Using one continuous floor across the kitchen, dining room and living room can create a calm and spacious appearance. Large tiles are especially suitable for this type of design because they reduce the number of visible grout lines.

For particularly spacious surfaces, explore our Large Format Tiles. Formats such as 60 × 120 cm, 120 × 120 cm and larger ceramic slabs can create a contemporary architectural look.

Stone Look Floor Tiles

Natural stone is one of the most important sources of inspiration for modern ceramic design. Porcelain stoneware can reproduce the colours, veins and textures of limestone, slate, granite, quartzite, travertine and many other stones.

Our Stone Look Tiles combine the appearance of natural stone with the practical properties of ceramic tiles.

Stone effect floor tiles work particularly well in bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, entrance areas and commercial spaces. Depending on colour and surface, they can create a modern, Alpine, Mediterranean, minimalist or classic interior.

Wood Look Floor Tiles

If you like the warm appearance of wooden flooring but prefer a ceramic surface, wood effect porcelain tiles provide an interesting alternative.

Modern Wooden Look Tiles reproduce wood grains, knots, colours and natural variations in considerable detail.

They are especially useful in areas where natural wood may require more maintenance, including kitchens, bathrooms and entrance areas. Wood effect floor tiles can also be combined with underfloor heating and used throughout open-plan living spaces.

Marble Look Floor Tiles

Marble effect floor tiles are particularly popular for elegant bathrooms, living areas, entrance halls and representative commercial interiors.

Modern porcelain tiles can reproduce characteristic marble veining and colour variations without requiring the same maintenance as many natural stone surfaces.

Our Marble Look Tiles range from classic white marble effects to beige, grey, black, green and expressive coloured designs.

Concrete Look Floor Tiles

Concrete effect floor tiles are particularly suitable for modern, industrial and minimalist interiors.

Neutral shades such as light grey, warm greige, anthracite and beige can be combined with wood, metal, glass and coloured furniture.

Explore our selection under Concrete & Cement if you are looking for modern ceramic flooring with a calm, mineral appearance.

Which Floor Tile Size Should You Choose?

The size of a floor tile has a significant influence on the overall appearance of a room.

Classic formats such as 30 × 60 cm and 60 × 60 cm remain highly versatile. Larger formats such as 60 × 120 cm, 80 × 80 cm or 120 × 120 cm create fewer grout lines and can make the surface appear calmer.

Large tiles are not limited to large rooms. They can also work very well in smaller bathrooms or kitchens when the tile layout and cuts are carefully planned.

For particularly large sizes, visit our Large Format Tiles.

Matt, Polished or Textured Floor Tiles?

The finish of a floor tile should be chosen according to both design and intended use.

Matt floor tiles usually create a natural and understated appearance. They are especially common in stone, wood and concrete effects.

Polished and glossy porcelain tiles reflect more light and can emphasise marble veins and colours. However, the suitability of a polished surface for the intended floor area should always be checked.

Textured surfaces can provide additional grip and are particularly relevant for wet areas, entrance zones and outdoor applications.

Slip-Resistant Floor Tiles

Slip resistance is an important factor for bathrooms, entrance areas, commercial spaces and outdoor surfaces.

Depending on the product, floor tiles may be classified as R9, R10, R11 or higher. The required classification depends on the application and surrounding conditions.

For areas with particularly demanding technical requirements, our Technical Porcelain Stoneware provides further options.

Outdoor Floor Tiles and Garden Slabs

Not every indoor floor tile is automatically suitable for outdoor installation.

For terraces, balconies, garden paths and outdoor seating areas, frost resistance, slip resistance, thickness and the planned installation method must all be considered.

Our Garden Slabs include porcelain slabs designed specifically for outdoor applications. Many collections also offer matching indoor and outdoor versions, allowing a visually continuous transition from the living room to the terrace.

Combine Floor and Wall Tiles

A room does not necessarily need to use the same tile on every surface.

A calm stone or concrete effect floor can be combined with colourful, textured or glossy wall tiles. Conversely, an expressive floor tile can be balanced with a simpler wall design.

Explore our Wall Tiles for additional combinations and design possibilities.

Order Floor Tile Samples Before Buying

Colours and surfaces can look different on a screen than they do in real life. Lighting, furniture, wall colours and surrounding materials all influence the appearance of a tile.

For this reason, we recommend viewing your preferred floor tiles as physical samples before placing a larger order.

Browse our Tile Samples to compare colours, textures and finishes directly in your own room.
