Gigacer Dune: porcelain stoneware shaped by clay, sand and movement
Dune is a Gigacer collection in which the production process becomes an essential part of the design.
The inspiration comes from sand dunes formed by wind.
Sand is constantly moved, mixed, deposited and reshaped.
Over time, this process creates flowing contours, ridges and layered landscapes.
Gigacer translates the same principle into porcelain stoneware.
Different coloured clay bodies are deposited and layered to create curves and changing movements across the ceramic surface.
The result does not simply imitate stone, concrete or conventional terracotta.
Dune develops its own visual language based on earth, sand, clay and landscape.

Only clays, no glaze
Gigacer summarises one of the central ideas behind Dune with the phrase “Only clays, no glaze”.
The colour and material character are therefore closely connected to the clay itself.
Rather than relying purely on a decorative surface graphic, different clay bodies contribute directly to the appearance of the tile.
This creates a particularly material focused result.
From a distance, the surface can appear calm and harmonious.
When viewed more closely, the curves, layers and transitions between the clay colours become much more apparent.
This balance makes Dune suitable for interiors that should feel natural without becoming rustic.
A surface with constant variation
Gigacer describes the technology as capable of creating an almost endless succession of curves and ridges.
This means that the surface does not depend on one rigidly repeated graphic.
The different slabs instead form parts of a continuously changing landscape.
This characteristic is especially valuable across larger surfaces.
A floor made from highly repetitive tiles can sometimes reveal the underlying pattern quickly.
Dune aims for a more natural visual rhythm.
The movement changes across the surface, allowing a large floor or wall to feel more organic.
This makes the collection particularly interesting for open living areas, bathrooms, hotels, restaurants and architectural projects.
Five colours inspired by different landscapes
Dune is available in Bianco Caraibi, Avorio Zanzibar, Sabbia Sahara, Tangerine Namibia and Nero Lanzarote.
The names themselves connect the collection with geographical landscapes and natural colour worlds.
Bianco Caraibi
Bianco Caraibi is the lightest interpretation.
It can be used in interiors that should remain bright, calm and open.
The flowing clay movement prevents the light colour from becoming completely flat or sterile.
It combines naturally with pale timber, white, beige, stone and restrained metallic details.
Avorio Zanzibar
Avorio Zanzibar introduces a warmer ivory character.
It works particularly well with oak, walnut, natural fabrics, cream tones and warm metals.
The colour can be used in both contemporary and more Mediterranean interiors.
Sabbia Sahara
Sabbia Sahara is closely connected to the central idea of the collection.
Its sand coloured appearance creates a warm mineral foundation.
The shade can provide an alternative to conventional beige stone or concrete inspired flooring.
It works particularly well with timber, warm whites, linen, black details and natural materials.
Tangerine Namibia
Tangerine Namibia is the most expressive colour in the range.
Its warm orange and earthy character recalls strongly coloured desert landscapes.
The shade can become a deliberate architectural feature rather than simply a neutral floor.
White, black, dark timber, bronze and natural textiles can all create strong combinations with this colour.
Nero Lanzarote
Nero Lanzarote forms the darkest end of the palette.
The name evokes the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote.
A dark ceramic surface can create a sophisticated architectural foundation in bathrooms, restaurants, bars, hotels and contemporary homes.
It combines particularly well with pale timber, white walls, glass and metallic elements.
Four formats
Gigacer offers Dune in 120 × 120 cm, 60 × 120 cm, 60 × 60 cm and Blend 5, 10 and 15 × 60 cm.
The 60 × 60 cm size is versatile and suitable for a wide variety of rooms.
60 × 120 cm introduces a stronger sense of direction.
120 × 120 cm provides more uninterrupted surface on which the characteristic clay movement can develop.
It also reduces the number of visible grout lines and can therefore create a calmer architectural appearance.
The Blend format
Blend uses elements measuring 5, 10 and 15 × 60 cm.
This creates a considerably finer rhythm compared with the large square and rectangular tiles.
Blend can be used for niches, washbasin walls, decorative zones and selected architectural surfaces.
Combining Blend with a larger Dune format allows a project to change scale while maintaining the same material and colour family.
Mat, Soft, Levigato and Bocciardato
Dune is available in four finishes: Mat, Soft, Levigato and Bocciardato.
Mat maintains a restrained and natural appearance.
Soft creates another refined interpretation of the material.
Levigato changes the interaction between light and colour by producing a more reflective surface.
Bocciardato introduces a stronger texture.
The correct finish should always be selected according to both the desired appearance and the technical requirements of the application.
12 mm Multilayer and 24 mm
Gigacer offers Dune in 12 mm Multilayer and 24 mm thicknesses.
These dimensions give the collection a substantial material character.
The appropriate version should be selected according to the substrate, intended area and technical requirements.

The technical suitability of the specific Dune finish should always be verified before planning an outdoor application.
Dune in bathrooms
Dune is particularly suitable for bathrooms in which natural atmosphere and contemporary architecture should coexist.
Bianco Caraibi can keep the room light.
Avorio Zanzibar and Sabbia Sahara introduce warmth.
Tangerine Namibia creates a much stronger identity.
Nero Lanzarote can form the basis of a darker and more sophisticated bathroom.
Timber furniture, glass, white sanitaryware and fittings in black, chrome, brass or bronze can all be combined with the collection.
Dune in kitchens
The natural colour palette also works well in contemporary kitchens.
Sabbia Sahara and Avorio Zanzibar combine naturally with timber cabinetry.
Bianco Caraibi suits bright minimalist kitchens.
Nero Lanzarote can create contrast against pale furniture.
Tangerine Namibia offers a stronger Mediterranean or earthy direction.
In open plan homes, the same Dune floor can continue through the kitchen, dining area and living room.
This creates visual continuity while the changing clay patterns keep the large surface interesting.
A contemporary Mediterranean character
Clay, sand and warm earthy colours naturally connect Dune with Mediterranean landscapes.
However, the collection does not simply reproduce traditional terracotta.
Its larger formats, controlled production and flowing surface give it a clearly contemporary character.
Dune can therefore be combined with mineral plaster, natural timber, stone, linen and minimalist furniture.

Hotels, restaurants and retail
Dune can also provide a strong identity in hospitality and commercial interiors.
Avorio Zanzibar and Sabbia Sahara can create calm and welcoming environments.
Tangerine Namibia can become part of the visual identity of a restaurant or hotel.
Nero Lanzarote can create a sophisticated foundation in bars, boutiques and representative areas.
The changing curves and ridges are particularly valuable on large surfaces because the material avoids looking excessively repetitive.
Material as the decoration
One of the most distinctive qualities of Dune is that the decoration is closely linked to the material itself.
The coloured clays generate the lines.
The layering creates the movement.
Light then reveals the changing surface.
This approach makes Dune particularly relevant for interiors in which authentic material expression is important.
Timber shows its grain.
Natural stone shows its veins.
Dune shows the movement of its clay bodies.
Gigacer Dune at VITALE TILES
Gigacer Dune is suitable for customers, architects and interior designers looking for a ceramic surface with natural movement and a clear individual identity.
Five colours provide very different atmospheres, from pale Bianco Caraibi to warm Sabbia Sahara, expressive Tangerine Namibia and dark Nero Lanzarote.
Four formats support both expansive surfaces and more detailed design zones.
Mat, Soft, Levigato and Bocciardato further change the visual and tactile character.
Because Dune relies heavily on clay variation, movement and surface character, viewing a physical sample before a larger order is particularly useful. Natural daylight, artificial lighting and surrounding materials can significantly change how the colour and clay movement are perceived.
