The "Natura" collection was created by combining the natural beauty and traditional craftsmanship techniques of the Etna region. The Le Nid design studio has drawn inspiration from this unique environment to create a tile collection that is both modern and traditional.
This collection is characterized by its vibrant and innovative tiles, which are available in 20x20 and 15x15 cm sizes. The tiles are made from handmade, glazed terracotta and use traditional patterns in a monochrome style reminiscent of old black and white postcards.
With "Natura", individual designs can be created that highlight each element of the Etna territory and emphasize the connection between nature and craftsmanship.
Handcrafted terracotta
The terracotta is made entirely by hand from a mixture of clay from the Simeto Valley and ground volcanic rock. It has a special mineralogical composition that gives the finished product the best chemical-physical properties. The mixture is pressed by hand into molds of various shapes and sizes. Each tile is then processed once again to avoid clay contamination. Finally, it is placed in the kiln and fired.
"Handmade" is the key word of the manufacturing process that characterizes the artistic production of the Le Nid studio. The manufacturing process is carried out in a laboratory in Paternò. It consists of three phases: Glazing, decorating and firing.
